Q: Who can be a Sentinel Laboratory?

A: Any facility that performs microbiology on clinical specimens qualifies as a Sentinel Laboratory. See this document for the official definition.

Q: How do I become a Sentinel Laboratory?

A: Complete the Information Form and submit to the Sentinel Laboratory Liaison at evelyn.geeter@adph.state.al.us.

Q: Are we required to do anything to renew our status as a Sentinel Laboratory?

A:  There is not a renewal form but participation in the CAP LPX along with the communication and packaging exercise is required.

Q: How can I get an official Sentinel Certificate?

A: Email the Sentinel Laboratory Liaison at evelyn.geeter@adph.state.al.us.

Q: Do I need to order the CAP LPX?

A:  No. The program pays for and orders the CAP LPX to be sent to your laboratory.
